Luce & Attems Wine Dinner

When Vittorio Frescobaldi met Robert Mondavi in the early 90s, a new chapter in the history of the great Tuscan wines was written. From that meeting, a wine came to life inspired by the desire to make a dream come true: to create a wine in Montalcino, that went beyond the boundaries of tradition, while acknowledging and celebrating it, by treasuring the experiences of two historic families in the world of wine.

This ambitious project took the name of Tenuta Luce, a name that evokes the sunlight of Montalcino, which is the source of life and nourishment, and marks the passage of the seasons and sets the pace for any and every agricultural activity. Since then, Tenuta Luce has always honoured this vision and the symbolic wine of the Tenuta, Luce.

Attems is a name that encompasses the history of wine in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Owned by the Frescobaldi family since the year 2000, the estate extends over 44 hectares of south-facing terraced slopes to the west of Gorizia, protected both from the cold northern winds and the characteristic “bora” wind of Trieste. The area is particularly suited to viticulture, making Friuli Venezia Giulia one of the leading grape-growing regions of Italy already since the end of the 19th century. Attems promotes both native grapes such as Ribolla Gialla, as well as other noble varieties including Sauvignon Banc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Merlot. Given the particularly idyllic environmental conditions, the vineyards flourish and yield their fruits in an ecosystem in which biodiversity reigns.

With an economics background from Ca’ Foscari University, Venice, I worked with Electrolux Professional (professional catering) and then the Frescobaldi Group, collaborating with renowned wineries like Tenuta Luce, Attems, Ornellaia, and Masseto. As Commercial Director of Tenuta Luce-Montalcino and Attems-Friuli, I’m proud to work with one of Italy’s leading wine groups, exploring the richness of Tuscan wine and connecting with national and international industry players.
