Northcote retains Michelin star for 26th year

Michelin’s annual star revelation took place this morning (16th February), when restauarants across Great Britain and Ireland eagerly await news of a Michelin star.
It was confirmed that Northcote and Executive Chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen have successful retained their historic star for the 26th consecutive year.

Lisa said: “Myself and the team at Northcote are extremely proud to have retained one Michelin star at this year’s Michelin reveal. To retain our star all these years is such a huge achievement and one I’m really proud of. We strive to always maintain a high level of consistency, and I believe that’s what Michelin look for.

“Despite all of the challenges we have faced over the past year, we have been able to maintain that consistency and we’ve done it in true Lancashire spirit, providing a dining experience that people really enjoy. The team deserve huge recognition for this, they work tirelessly day in, day out. I am very grateful to each and every one of them.”

More Michelin Star Joy for Obsession22 Chefs

There were three big reasons to celebrate too for Simon Rogan and his team at l’Enclume, who cooked at Obsession22 just 3 weeks ago. Simon was awarded three Michelin stars after holding 2 since 2013.

Simon said: “I’m lost for words. I’ve dreamed about this moment for 20 years…It’s just an unbelievable feeling!””

And Mickael Viljanen who began a new venture by opening Chapter One in Dublin just six months ago was awarded two Michelin stars. Mickael previously held 2 stars at The Greenhouse so it was a welcome return to the 2 star accolade for him and his team.

Mickael said: “What an amazing result just after 6mth from opening, from best team I have had the pleasure to work with. Humbled, honoured and over the moon!!”
