Wednesday 20th November

For gardeners, flower enthusiasts, botany lovers, and foodies, join us at Northcote for a special event in collaboration with The Flower Shop –  Clitheroe.

Dive into a journey of art and elegance where the world of floral design meets culinary excellence. Linda Hardman, the brilliant mind behind The Flower Shop Clitheroe, will demonstrate some of her signature floral creations, each creation a testament to her 30-year career and expertise, which has seen her designs adorn both royalty and beloved TV shows. Following the demonstrations, Linda will be around to answer any questions about the realm of floral design.

In the spirit of giving back, this event also supports the admirable work of Horatio’s Garden. We will be selling raffle tickets, offering attendees the chance to win Linda’s demonstration pieces. All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to support Horatio’s Garden, a charity that creates and nurtures beautiful sanctuaries within NHS spinal injury centres, promoting the wellbeing of individuals post spinal injury.

To complement this day, you will be treated to a lavish 3-course lunch, curated by the renowned Chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen. Whether you’re looking to expand your horizons in the world of floral design, indulge in a newfound hobby, or simply bask in a day of beauty and delectable cuisine, this event promises to be an unforgettable lunch date, all while supporting a noble cause.

Over the decades, it has expanded from modest origins to a cornerstone in the community. Beyond their exquisite selection of fresh flowers, plants, and bespoke designs that reflect current industry trends, they consistently deliver on a promise of quality and style. Their team of adept floral designers crafts each bouquet with both skill and heart. The Flower Shop’s commitment to eco-friendly practices is evident in their sustainable packaging, which elegantly fuses aesthetics with responsibility. It is this dedication to excellence that led to a symbiotic relationship with Northcote. Horatio’s Garden

Horatio’s Garden is a beacon of hope and rejuvenation for those grappling with spinal injuries. Nestled within NHS spinal injury centres, these vibrant gardens, crafted by leading designers, offer serene sanctuaries for patients during their long hospital stays. Beyond their aesthetic beauty, these gardens play a critical role in mental and physical rehabilitation—with research highlighting notable improvements in the wellbeing of 98% of beneficiaries. Stemming from the legacy of a young and spirited Horatio, whose life was tragically cut short at 17, the gardens epitomize his dream of positively impacting the lives of others. Championed by HRH Princess Eugenie, a spinal patient herself and the charity’s Royal Patron since 2019, Horatio’s Garden has a bold vision of expanding to all 11 NHS spinal injury centres in the UK. Today, the charity humbly asks for support in perpetuating Horatio’s dream and nurturing the wellbeing of countless spinal injury patients.
