We dined at Northcote for my birthday, all of us having the plant based 6 course tasting menu.
Where to start? Wow! It is simply amazing you can create such flavours from simple vegetables. It is clear you have treated the vegetables with such respect and have enhanced their natural flavours and textures to an incredible level. We cannot single out one course which we think is our favourite, all are fantastic and all have outstanding elements. You have been able to make one vegetable the star of the dish with accompanying ingredients that compliment spectacularly - genius culinary alchemy!
It can often be hard to get the balance just right for vegetarians without resorting to meat substitutes. However your use of cheeses, eggs, beans and peas on the plant based menu was perfectly balanced and we left feeling incredibly satisfied and totally spoilt. I have been vegetarian for 25 years and often feel like an afterthought when dining out however the amount of thought, care and attention to detail that has gone in to this menu is evident. The very fact we were asked for feedback shows the passion and care also and your staff and their enthusiasm for you and your menu is a credit to you.
Everything perfectly presented, a delight to eat and simply an exciting and interesting experience from start to finish.
