A Tour of South Africa

Thu 22nd Mar, 2018

7.15pm for 8.00pm

Louis Roederer Private Dining Room, Northcote

The history of South African wine can be traced back to 1659 and the vineyards in Constantia, one of the oldest townships of Cape Town. Today the major wine production is centred around around Paarl, Stellenbosch and Worcester and for this evening we will be guided through some of the treasures of the Cape by Richard Kelley MW of Drefus Ashby.

Over the past 15 years, Richard has become one of the most respected authorities on South African wine in the UK. Having lived in Cape Town from 1995 to 2002 he established a healthy rapport with the the local wine scene, which affords him access to many of the most distinguished cellars. As a regular panel taster for South African Wine magazine Richard regularly returns to the Cape on his mission to uncover – and liberate – the hidden gems of the Cape.
