| Nigel honoured at Regional Tourism Oscars |

On Monday 28th September 2009, the region’s top tourism businesses and professionals gathered in Blackpool’s famous tower ballroom for the sixth annual England’s Northwest Tourism Awards. Organized by the Northwest Development Agency, the prestigious event aims to drive up the quality of the visitor experience across the region by rewarding excellence in the tourism industry.
A total of 18 accolades were handed out, including the Outstanding Contribution to Tourism award presented to Nigel, recognised for his work as an ambassador for the region’s fantastic food.

Peter Saunders, Assistant Manager at Northcote
Takes 2nd place in
National Competition Last week Peter, who has been at Northcote assisting with the managing of all Front of House aspects, represented the North in the final of the Young Chef/Young Waiter competition. This competition recognises the under 25 stars of tomorrow, now in its 25th year, it is the industry’s favourite youth skills event, which pairs the skills of both kitchen and front of house in a modern restaurant environment.
Chairman of the Restaurant Association, Bob Walton, said that he was delighted with the standard achieved this year, which was “higher than ever, they represent a very bright future for the industry! |
