the clog and billycock

If you’re a regular at the Three Fishes or the Highwayman, you’ll already know why we’ve scooped many of Britain’s top awards… and now there are three!

Pleasington. It’s one of the most picturesque parts of a beautiful area. So, like every real Lancashire Village…it needs a pub full of Lancashire tradition.

Welcome to the Clog and Billycock. The Clog has been part of Pleasington history for over 150 years…a place of fond memories, laughter and life for many. But its real heyday as the heart of the village is yet to come, thanks to a £1.3 million refurbishment.

Like its two stablemates, The Clog is steeped in all the history you can expect of a rural treasure. And yet its name is surprisingly easy to explain. Originally known as the Bay Horse Inn, clogs and a billycock were the favourite attire of a landlord who took over in the early 20th century….and somehow the idea stuck!

Nigel is putting the finishing touches to the menu, the contractors have promised all is going well! So when you’re ready to visit the team at the Clog and Billycock, they will be ready and waiting to give a warm welcome to the 3rd Ribble Valley Inn Pub.

Visit www.theclogandbillycock.com for more information as the web site develops with new information.
