Great British Menu on BBC2
Over the past six years Great British Menu has cooked for Her Majesty the Queen at her 80th birthday banquet; served a magnificent meal to the gastronomic elite of France; thrilled some of the world's finest chefs with some of the very best, cutting edge, contemporary British food at the Gherkin, London; a celebratory dinner for British troops returning from Afghanistan; a banquet hosted by the Prince of Wales for outstanding local food suppliers and a community street party held in the ancient cobbled streets of Leadenhall Market in London.
Nigel Haworth and Lisa Allen have both found success on the Great British Menu. Nigel won with his main course in 2009 of, 'Lonk Lamb, Lancashire Hotpot, Roast Loin, Pickled Red cabbage, Organic Tangled Garden Carrots and Leeks', which he cooked at a celebratory dinner for British troops returning from Afghanistan hosted by Ross Kemp. In 2010 Lisa Allen, was the first woman to reach the finals and to win a course to cook at a banquet hosted by the Prince of Wales in celebration of the National Trust. Lisa won with her starter of, 'Levens Hall Wild Rabbit & Leek Turnover, Piccalilli'.
